CYS is looking for dedicated and compassionate counselors to provide evidence based model, Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Experience in the model is not required as CYS will provide extensive training and supervision in the model to help therapists develop their skills to assist clients. PCIT serves children ages 2-10 struggling with emotional and behavioral symptoms that are impacting their social, academic and/or developmental functioning. This therapy model requires the participation of their care provider to learn skills focused on relationship enhancement and behavioral strategies. The therapist will work closely with a Bachelor’s prepared case manager to assist the family in wraparound services in addition to therapy.

Comprehensive Youth Services has an opening for a clinical position to work with children, youth, and their families. Position is full time.
Basic Function:
Counselors will provide therapeutic services to children and their families in a clinic setting. Travel may be required for periodic supportive services and may include any combination of the following:
- Family counseling services to children and families, crisis intervention services, parent education, in-services for school personnel and/or community, case management, parent child interaction therapy, and outreach. Services are provided in various locations including, but not limited to: CYS office and satellite locations throughout Fresno and/or Madera, Neighborhood Resource Centers, school campuses including community day schools, and client homes.
- Conduct outreach to children, parents and the community; facilitate and participate in client management services such as, school meetings (Student Study Teams and IEP meetings), other collaborative meetings such as, (DCFS and county case staffings) and with other collaborative agencies regarding clients; consult with outside agencies regarding developing new services, managing client behavior and addressing community wide issues; network with schools and/or community agencies.
- Therapist will be trained in the specific program model of PCIT and be provided with clinical and programmatic supervision.
- Program activities including preparing for counseling sessions, completing client assessments/diagnoses/treatment plans, maintaining client records in an electronic health records system, participating in CYS meetings, clinical supervision (individual and group), trainings, workshops and conferences that pertain directly to providing program specific counseling services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or Professional Clinical Counseling .
- Must be a be registered with the California Must be a Licensed or License-Eligible MSW, MFT or PCC Board of Behavioral Science (BBS).
- Experience providing clinical services to youth and their families and knowledge of collaboration with other agencies and service providers is preferred.
- Must have proven abilities in the areas of written and oral communication, knowledge of child welfare laws and community resources. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations. Computer and technology skills preferred, including knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and an ability to learn new electronic health record system.
- Must have valid Driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
- Applicant must be able to complete and pass fingerprint clearance.
