About the Role
Centurion Fire and Security is seeking a highly qualified Fire Sprinkler Designer to lead the design, layout, and documentation of code‑compliant fire sprinkler systems. This position plays a critical role in life‑safety compliance, constructability, and technical accuracy, while supporting Centurion’s continued growth and reputation for excellence.
This role also carries the responsibility and opportunity for the qualified candidate to achieve, uphold, and represent Centurion Fire and Security as the Responsible Managing Employee (RME) for the State of Arkansas.
Key Responsibilities
Fire Sprinkler System Design
- Design fire sprinkler systems for commercial and industrial projects in compliance with NFPA standards and local codes
- Develop accurate system layouts, hydraulic calculations, and material take‑offs
- Prepare shop drawings, details, and installation documents using applicable design software
- Ensure designs meet project specifications, constructability requirements, and AHJ expectations
Code Compliance & Technical Oversight
- Apply NFPA 13, 13R, 13D, and related standards appropriately
- Incorporate state and local amendments into all designs
- Support permit submissions, plan review responses, and AHJ revisions
- Serve as a technical authority for sprinkler design within the organization
RME Responsibilities – Arkansas
- Willingness and ability to achieve, uphold, and represent Centurion Fire and Security as the Responsible Managing Employee (RME) for the State of Arkansas
- Ensure statewide compliance with licensing, design standards, and regulatory requirements
- Act as a point of technical accountability for fire sprinkler design activities within the state
Project Coordination & Support
- Collaborate with project managers, inspectors, installers, and customers
- Review field conditions and installation feedback to refine designs
- Support revisions, as‑built drawings, and change orders as required
Qualifications & Experience
NICET Requirements
- NICET Level III or Level IV in Fire Sprinkler Design – Highly Preferred
- NICET Level II – Desired, with a clear willingness and commitment to attain NICET Level III
Design & Technical Experience
- Proven experience designing fire sprinkler systems
- Strong, working knowledge of NFPA standards and AHJ processes
- Proficiency with fire sprinkler design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, HydraCALC, AutoSPRINK, or similar
- Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy
