Elementary Music Teacher (Full-Time) – 2026–2027 School Year
Braintree Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic Music Teacher for a full-time position beginning in the 2026–2027 school year. This position will be shared between two elementary schools within the district.
Qualifications:

Massachusetts Licensure in Music Education required.

Knowledge of and experience with the First Steps in Music and Conversational Solfege methodologies developed by Dr. John Feierabend preferred.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, students, and families across multiple school buildings.
Responsibilities:
Instruction will include general and adaptive music education with an emphasis on:

Appropriate vocal technique

Music notation reading and writing
-
Recorder and ukulele instruction

Choral performances and concerts
-
Development of musical literacy, creativity, and appreciation
The successful candidate will create engaging and inclusive learning experiences that foster a lifelong appreciation for music while supporting the district’s elementary music curriculum. The position requires flexibility, collaboration, and the ability to effectively manage responsibilities across two school locations. Experience differentiating instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, including those participating in adaptive music programming, is highly desirable.
