Optician — Boutique Private Practice (Escondido / RB border)
$24–28/hour + bonus Thursdays off No nights
The short version
We're a small specialty optometry practice on the South Escondido / North Rancho Bernardo line. Long-established patients, unhurried schedule, modern equipment, and a team that actually likes each other. If you're tired of quotas, 20-minute turnarounds, and a manager three states away — read on.
What you'd do
- Style and select frames with patients who trust your eye
- Recommend lens designs and coatings that genuinely fit the patient
- Edge and finish lenses in-house (we'll train you if you haven't)
- Fit, adjust, troubleshoot
- Help with pretesting and check-in when we're covering for each other
- Keep the optical looking sharp
What we're looking for
- 1+ year of optical experience
- Comfortable talking to people and confident making recommendations
- Reliable — in a four-person office, showing up matters
- ABO certification or optician program: nice, not required
Schedule
- Mon–Wed: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Thursday: off
- Friday: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
- Two Saturdays a month: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
- Full-time or part-time — we can flex around school pickup, classes, or a standing commitment. Tell us what you need.
