Building Engineer (Full-Time or Part-Time)

About Us
CHP Bayfront Corporation owns and manages commercial office, laboratory, and industrial properties in Baltimore, Maryland. We are seeking a dependable and motivated Building Engineer to help oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of our commercial building and building systems.
Both full-time and part-time candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities
· Perform routine inspections of building systems and equipment.
· Coordinate with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical contractors.
· Assist in overseeing maintenance and repair projects.
· Troubleshoot basic building maintenance issues.
· Monitor the performance of HVAC equipment, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, pumps, and other mechanical systems.
· Maintain maintenance logs and equipment records.
· Assist with vendor scheduling, service calls, and follow-up.
· Ensure the property remains clean, safe, and well maintained.
· Support preventive maintenance programs.
· Respond to maintenance requests and building emergencies when needed.
· Perform light maintenance and repairs as appropriate.
Qualifications
· Experience working as a Building Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Facilities Technician, or similar position preferred.
· General knowledge of commercial building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
· Ability to coordinate with outside contractors and vendors.
· Good troubleshooting and organizational skills.
· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
· Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, Excel).
· Valid driver’s license.
· EPA, HVAC, Boiler, or other mechanical certifications are a plus, but not required.
Schedule
· Full-Time or Part-Time
· Flexible schedule depending on experience and availability
· Occasional after-hours or emergency response may be required.
Compensation
Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
