Vive Clinic is seeking a highly motivated and patient-focused Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with an Associate Degree in Practical Nursing to join our team. This full-time position combines front office responsibilities (approximately 70%) with clinical nursing duties (approximately 30%). The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional customer service while supporting high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient specialty clinic.
Primary Responsibilities
Front Desk Responsibilities (Approximately 70%)
- Welcome patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Collect co-pays and process patient payments.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out.
- Obtain referrals and insurance authorizations as needed.
- Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Coordinate communication with referring providers, pharmacies, laboratories, infusion companies, and home health agencies.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform general administrative duties to support efficient clinic operations.
Clinical Nursing Responsibilities (Approximately 30%)
- Obtain vital signs and update medical histories.
- Prepare patients for physician evaluation.
- Perform medication reconciliation.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and injections as ordered.
- Perform venipuncture and collect laboratory specimens when indicated.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
- Assist with office procedures.
- Maintain exam rooms, clinical equipment, and medical supplies.
- Adhere to infection prevention and safety protocols.
- Document all patient care accurately and timely in the EMR.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Practical Nursing (Required).
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Puerto Rico in good standing.
- Current BLS certification.
- Previous outpatient or medical office experience preferred.
- Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work independently.
