Duties
- Perform routine inspections and diagnostics on various mechanical systems using tools such as the ohmmeter to measure electrical resistance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs promptly.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to extend equipment lifespan and reduce downtime.
- Disassemble, repair, or replace faulty parts with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities for accountability and future reference.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Assist in ordering parts and supplies needed for repairs to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar hands-on repair role within a shop environment.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools including ohmmeters for electrical testing.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams clearly.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy parts, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks safely. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters, along with relevant certifications or training in mechanical repair or electrical diagnostics.
