Overview
PRS Transportation Services, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and motivated Transportation Operations Specialist to support daily logistics and transportation activities. This position plays a critical role in coordinating freight operations, maintaining communication with customers and carriers, and ensuring shipments are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced transportation environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily transportation schedules and freight movements to ensure on-time deliveries
- Communicate with customers, carriers, brokers, and drivers regarding shipment status and scheduling updates
- Monitor shipments and proactively resolve transportation delays or service issues
- Prepare and maintain bills of lading, rate confirmations, invoices, and shipping documentation
- Support dispatch operations, route planning, and load optimization efforts
- Track operational performance and prepare transportation reports for management
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and transportation safety standards
- Maintain accurate transportation records and assist with billing activities
- Collaborate with internal departments to improve logistics efficiency and customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, freight coordination, dispatching, or supply chain operations preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email systems, and transportation management software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Professional attitude with a strong commitment to customer service
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS), DAT Load Board, Truckstop, McLeod, or similar logistics software
- Knowledge of freight operations, dispatch procedures, routing, and carrier management
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and transportation industry compliance requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or Russian) is a plus
