A growing, multi-state skilled nursing organization is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Director of Revenue Cycle to lead and optimize all billing and collections operations across the portfolio.
This role is critical to the financial health of the organization and requires a hands-on leader who understands the full lifecycle of skilled nursing billing—from submission to collections—and can drive accountability, accuracy, and performance across the back-office team.
Revenue Cycle Leadership (CORE FOCUS)
Oversee the entire revenue cycle process across all facilities, from billing through collections
Ensure timely, accurate billing submissions in accordance with Medicare, Medicaid, and payer requirements
Drive collections performance with a target of 95%+ collection rates
Monitor AR aging, identify trends, and aggressively work to reduce outstanding balances
Billing Operations & Oversight
Directly manage and oversee back-office billing teams (billers) across multiple facilities
Establish clear expectations, workflows, and accountability for billing staff
Ensure all claims are submitted cleanly and promptly, minimizing rework and delays
Identify and correct billing errors, missed charges, and revenue leakage
Denials Management & Process Improvement
Lead denial management efforts, including root cause analysis and resolution
Implement systems and processes to reduce denials and improve first-pass acceptance rates
Continuously improve billing workflows to increase efficiency and cash flow
Systems & Technology
Utilize and oversee billing operations within PointClickCare (PCC)
Ensure proper system utilization, accuracy of data entry, and optimization of workflows within PCC
Partner with IT and operations teams to improve system efficiencies and reporting capabilities
Skilled Nursing Reimbursement Expertise
Oversee billing for Medicare, Medicaid, and other payers within SNF environments
Ensure compliance with PDPM, payer guidelines, and regulatory requirements
Partner with clinical and facility teams to ensure documentation supports reimbursement
Reporting & Performance Management
Track and report on key revenue cycle KPIs, including:
Days in AR
Collection rates
Denial rates
Billing timeliness
Provide regular reporting and insights to the CFO and executive leadership
Hold teams accountable to performance metrics and deadlines
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with finance, operations, and clinical leadership to align processes and improve outcomes
Support CHOW transitions and ensure billing continuity during ownership changes
Assist with audits, cost reporting support, and compliance initiatives
MUST have direct Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience
Minimum of 5–7+ years of experience in revenue cycle, billing, or collections within SNF or long-term care
Proven experience managing billing teams and back-office operations
Required experience with PointClickCare (PCC)
Deep understanding of:
Medicare and Medicaid billing
SNF reimbursement and PDPM
Claims submission, AR management, and collections strategies
Denials management and revenue optimization
Demonstrated success improving collections, reducing AR, and increasing billing accuracy
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Detail-oriented with a proactive, hands-on approach
Must be based in or willing to relocate to Charleston, Illinois
Willingness to travel as needed to support facilities
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
High level of accountability, urgency, and follow-through
