A mufti-billion-dollar manufacturing company is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. Duties
- Perform full cycle accounts payable.
- Enters and processes and verify invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders. Make payments on all invoices.
- Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of accounts payable records
- Prepare journal entries related to accounts payable transactions and maintain the general ledger
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies or billing issues efficiently
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and internal controls, including SOX requirements
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable and general ledger reconciliation
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions for audit purposes
- Collaborate with the finance team on analysis of financial data and reporting as needed
- Participate in process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of accounts payable functions
Experience
- Proven experience working with accounting software such as NDS and AS400
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting
- Experience in manufacturing a plus.
- Knowledge of financial concepts related to accounts payable, receivable, tax compliance, and benefits administration
- Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation and journal entries accurately
- Excellent data entry skills (10 key typing) with high attention to detail
- Strong analysis skills for financial data interpretation and reporting
