Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items with precision, following established recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations to ensure a safe and efficient kitchen environment
- Follow food safety protocols and handling procedures to uphold health standards and prevent contamination
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques
- Slice, chop, and portion ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques to ensure consistency and quality
- Support meal preparation for catering events or large orders while adhering to safety standards in production
- Serve dishes promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction and timely delivery of orders
Experience
- Prior experience working in a restaurant kitchen or food service environment is highly preferred
- Demonstrated culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food industry best practices
- Familiarity with safety standards in production, food handling, and food safety management systems
- Experience with dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus, showcasing an understanding of special dietary needs
- Skills in menu planning, meal preparation, and catering are advantageous for this role
- Strong knife skills, slicing techniques, and attention to detail in food presentation are essential
- Previous experience serving or working directly with customers enhances your ability to deliver excellent service
