Overview
We are an ophthalmology practice in Forest Hills, Queens, heavily focused on retinal diseases. Our office has been open for three years and we are in a great position to hire an ophthalmic technician lead/supervisor who would like to grow within our company.
Bilingual Spanish or Russian preferred.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily clinic activities, ensuring efficient patient flow and adherence to clinical protocols
- Perform comprehensive patient intake assessments, including recording vital signs and medical history
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems to document patient information securely and accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Provide direct patient care by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort throughout visits
- Train and mentor staff on medical terminology, medical equipment operation, clinic policies, and confidentiality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry clinics with a strong understanding of ocular anatomy and physiology
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to safeguard patient information
- Ability to perform direct patient care with compassion while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to train staff on clinical procedures and clinic operations
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
