Position Summary
Maple Donuts is seeking a hands-on, results-driven Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations within a high-volume food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all production equipment, facility systems, utilities, and preventative maintenance programs.
The Maintenance Manager will:
Oversee maintenance personnel, drive equipment uptime and reliability initiatives, support continuous improvement efforts, and ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, and regulatory requirements. This leader is expected to promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work environment while supporting operational goals and business needs.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred
- Minimum:
- 10 years of industrial maintenance experience in a Food Manufacturing Environment.
- 5 years of maintenance leadership experience in a Maintenance Manager role.
- Experience implementing maintenance and reliability programs such as TPM, RCM, and predictive/preventative maintenance.
- Proven ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and influence plant performance.
Technical Skills
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience
- Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance systems
- Knowledge of industrial equipment, conveyors, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and utilities
- Experience with CMMS systems required
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office and maintenance software

- Must be able to respond to maintenance emergencies during off-hours when needed
Work Environment
Manufacturing and food production environment. Frequent interaction with machinery, production equipment, and maintenance tools. Hearing protection and other PPE required in designated areas.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, supervise, coach, and develop maintenance supervisors, mechanics, electricians, and maintenance support staff
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Ensure employees are treated professionally and in alignment with company policies and leadership expectations
- Conduct performance evaluations, corrective action, coaching, and employee development planning
- Interview, hire, onboard, and train maintenance personnel
- Determine departmental staffing and training needs
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with Production, QA, Sanitation, HR, and Operations teams
Maintenance Operations
- Oversee daily maintenance operations, including preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, troubleshooting, and project work
- Ensure maximum equipment uptime, efficiency, and reliability
- Develop and execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs
- Schedule maintenance activities to minimize production downtime
- Respond to plant emergencies and equipment failures as needed
- Assist maintenance staff with troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Monitor maintenance KPIs, downtime trends, PM completion rates, and equipment performance
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives to reduce downtime and maintenance costs
Facility & Equipment Management
- Maintain all plant equipment, utilities, and facility infrastructure
- Oversee ammonia refrigeration system compliance, maintenance, monitoring, and emergency response procedures
- Ensure proper upkeep and organization of the maintenance shop, parts room, and maintenance offices
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers
- Support capital projects, equipment installations, and engineering initiatives
Compliance & Safety
- Enforce all company safety policies and procedures, including LOTO, PPE, confined space, and machine guarding requirements
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies
- Conduct and support monthly safety training and departmental meetings
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, work orders, inspections, and compliance records
