Printing company is seeking a Graphic Designer/Prepress Technician.
This is an On-Site position.
Pleasant Graphics is a printing company with talented employees who work together and strive for customer satisfaction. We are looking for a graphic designer/prepress technician to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), has knowledge of prepress skills to finalize customer supplied files for printing, has knowledge of press imposition (or willing to learn) and/or electronic ripping software, and willing to learn new software and new skills as needed.
The position requires a strong understanding of digital and offset printing processes, including the ability to convert and manage color from RGB to CMYK and spot color systems.
Responsibilities include direct contact with customers. This person will provide telephone and in-person assistance to our valued clients. He or she will be part of a team in the front office who help customers that come to pick up their finished print jobs, come in to order new jobs and also receive payments.
Graphic Design/Prepress responsibilities include: being able to create, prepare, and review graphic designs for printing, ensuring they meet technical specifications, and production requirements; designing jobs to customer specifications, and prepping customer supplied files for pressroom and wide format equipment; ensure accurate color and resolution specifications are used; maintain and organize digital assets and project files with proper archiving; contribute to the quality from graphic design through the print process; adhere and enforce all company procedures; prepress file conversion, color separation, written content, and format adjustments
The ideal candidate has a degree in Graphic Design or a related field, and at least two years of professional experience (printing company preferred, but not required). He or she must be highly organized and detail-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills and experience with graphic design software/desktop publishing for PC.
We are looking for someone who:
-holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field
-has a minimum of 2 years experience in the graphic design/prepress field (preferred)
-has excellent graphic design skills including original thinking and creativity, typography, layout, branding skills and color theory
-is proficient in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
-has the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
-has the ability to work independently and also a team player
-is organized and has excellent time management skills, with high attention to detail
-meets challenges with resourcefulness, learns quickly when facing new problems and has strong problem-solving skills
-strives for continuous improvement of self and processes
-who wants to learn new skills and contribute their existing knowledge
-has good communication skills and attention to detail and interest in accuracy
-has exceptional customer service skills and can translate customer requests into final products
-is professional and dependable
Although we appreciate the design opportunities Canva has available, this is a non-Canva environment.
