Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the daily operation, safety, and functionality of multiple facilities through preventive maintenance, routine inspection, troubleshooting and routing repair work. This role ensures compliance with routine safety checks, supports internal logistics and facility readiness. The technician performs general maintenance tasks and escalates specialized, licensed, or high-risk work to approved vendors as well as providing site access, escort and support to contractors as needed.
Essential Duties
Preventative Maintenance & Safety Compliance

Perform routine facility safety and compliance checks (e.g. fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, backup systems), maintaining accurate inspection logs and reporting deficiencies

Immediately report any safety hazards, incidents, or compliance concerns

Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend the life of equipment and systems

Maintain compliance with health care safety standards, life safety codes, and organizational policies
General Maintenance and Repairs

Perform general maintenance and minor repairs within defined scope and training, including painting, fixture replacement, and basic plumbing/HVAC adjustments.

Identify and escalate all complex, high-risk, or code-regulated work to licensed and approved vendors

Ensure tools, equipment, and workspaces are kept clean, organized, and in safe working conditions
Vendor Coordination and Project Support

Escort vendors, communicate facility issues, and ensure scope clarity

Inventory and identify supplies needed for facility maintenance
Facilities Operations & Logistics

Support facility operations including space setup, furniture moves, supply transport, and routine site cleanliness and organization

Assist with facility-related emergency response efforts by assessing issues, communicating with leadership, and coordinating vendor support (e.g., power outages, water leaks)
Monitoring, Communication & Continuous Improvement

Respond promptly to maintenance requests and facility-related work orders

Communicate project progress to leadership
- Identify facility improvement opportunities and provide recommendations to leadership
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and avoid access to patient information except as necessary to perform assigned job duties (e.g., entering spaces for repairs)

Participate in on-call rotation for minor facility issues and vendor coordination, as needed
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Experience in facilities maintenance, property management, or related field

Strong general handyperson and troubleshooting skills
-
Ability to coordinate vendors and manage multiple priorities

Basic understanding and usage of core programs in the MS Office suite

Basic understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)

Strong communication and organizational skills
-
Valid driver’s license and insurance, and ability to travel between sites when requested

Able to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand or walk for extended periods

Ability to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, sit, talk, hear, stand, bend, walk; use hands and fingers, handle or operate objects, reach with hands and arms; climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.

May be exposed to communicable diseases and blood and body fluids that may contain HIV and/or HBV.
- May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, offensive odors, and hazardous materials.
