The Commissary Sales Marketing Representative is responsible for driving the in-house marketing, promotion, and sales of consumer products within commissary facilities. This role requires in-depth knowledge of client brands, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to set up displays, conduct promotions, and increase product sales. The position may also involve leading a team of Retail Coverage Merchandisers to meet objectives while maintaining excellent relationships with clients, customers, and commissary management.
What will you do?

Conduct regular store calls and maintain visit frequency as assigned.

Schedule, conduct, and manage section, category, and full store resets.

Cut in new items, ensure proper tagging, and maintain shelf integrity following planograms.

Place and maintain promotional signage and Point of Purchase (POP) materials.

Execute in-store promotions, events, and client-specific product opportunities, including order coordination and forecast recommendations.

Conduct demonstrations and build/program displays to maximize visibility and sales.

Monitor shelf stocking by independent contractors; resolve out-of-stock issues and distributor concerns.

Manage distributor inventories, markdowns, and coordinate CAO issues with store operations.

Direct and oversee the work activities of other Sales Representatives and Merchandisers, including timekeeping approvals.

Staff and maintain vendor stockers for temporary support; manage financial obligations for client expenses, displays, and demonstrations.

Process vendor credit memorandums and salvage claims.

Build and maintain strong professional relationships with commissary management to ensure smooth operations.

Perform other duties as assigned..

Employees must comply with all security protocols, reporting requirements, and periodic reinvestigations as required by the Department of Defense.
Experience and Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED required.

1–3 years of retail sales, merchandising, or training experience preferred.

Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.

Professional appearance and demeanor.

Comfortable interacting with the public and managing client relationships.

Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance. Employment is contingent upon successful clearance adjudication.

Need to obtain the clearance within a designated timeframe.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Travel within and potentially outside the assigned territory required.

Ability to stand, walk, and lift materials as needed for merchandising and display setup.

Work in retail/commissary environments, including possible exposure to refrigerated areas.
