SOUS CHEF / KITCHEN MANAGER
Paragon Tap & Table, a staple in the NJ craft beer & food scene for a decade, is looking for a sous chef/head line cook to assist our Head Chef in all areas to take us to the next level! The person who will fill this position will be more than someone with kitchen experience; we are looking for leadership, creativity, work ethic, and a desire to just get better. In the near future, we will be relaunching and rebranding our new concept.
Requirement:5 days, 10/hour a day work week. Experience in coaching & training kitchen staff
Willingness to work weekends & holidays.
Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team in a fine dining establishment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and hospitality, with a strong background in food production and kitchen management. As the Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring that high standards of food safety and quality are maintained while delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient operations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and handling regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Monitor food production processes to ensure consistency and quality in all dishes served.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy dining periods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Excellent culinary skills with a focus on presentation and flavor profiles.
- Ability to supervise and motivate kitchen staff effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food production processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and guests.
- A passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
