Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to animals in our facility, ensuring their well-being and comfort. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, medicating, and exercising dogs and cats.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their animals' needs and well-being.
- Support veterinary technicians or assistants with basic animal care tasks when required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in veterinary settings or animal care facilities is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and team members.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare.
- Familiarity with dog training methods is a plus.
- Must be able to lift and handle animals of various sizes safely.
