Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Acupuncture Clinic Receptionist to join our vibrant healthcare team. Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and facilitate check-in and check-out processes using various EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Schedule appointments accurately, coordinate with practitioners to optimize clinic flow, and manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and clear communication.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance authorizations and verifications, including Medicare and health insurance knowledge, to ensure seamless billing processes.
- Collect patient information, review documentation for accuracy, and assist with intake procedures while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Process medical billing and coding tasks using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding standards to support accurate documentation review and care plans.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) management including filing, data entry, record updates, and maintaining organized medical records in systems
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries promptly, guiding patients through office procedures, and ensuring a positive clinic experience at all times.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a medical receptionist role within a clinical setting such as acupuncture clinics or dental offices is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), medical billing, insurance verification, and health information management.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
- Experience with office management tasks such as filing, scheduling appointments, handling clinical confidentiality policies, and maintaining accurate medical records is required.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance is essential to ensure patient privacy and data security.
