Job Summary:
Maintains quality standards by inspecting incoming materials, in-process production and finished products; records quality results.
Manages calibration system for company-wide list of measurement tools.
Job Responsibilities:
· Inspects incoming materials, in-process production and finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; determines pass or fail status and reports findings to established team for disposition instructions. Carries out disposition instructions to achieve “passing” products.
· Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizes re-work results.
· Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and use of proper PPE.
· Accomplishes Organization’s Quality Policy by completing related tasks as needed.
· Ability to carry-out requests designed to keep tools in calibration for the company.
· Involved in the communication and closure of all non-conforming product. Maintains control of all non-conforming products until disposition is obtained.
Job Requirements
Ability to read and interpret detailed, close-tolerance Machined Part Drawings/Schematics and apply appropriate inspection techniques to verify conformance to the Spec.
Ability to read and interpret multiple Manual Gages (i.e. Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height and Depth Gages, Gage Pins, Johansson Blocks etc.)
Ability to read and interpret Dial Indicators, Digital Readouts and Graduated Vernier Scales
Ability to work overtime and weekends, if required. (Very minimal).
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Preferences
Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and Y14.5M Standard GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and appropriate Inspection Techniques, or willingness to learn/be trained.
Experience with ISO, MDNs (Non-conforming reports), CMMs and Optical Comparators.
Willing to work overtime and weekends if required.
