We are seeking a skilled and reliable Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the testing, maintenance, repair, and inspection of underground storage tank systems at gas stations, industrial sites, and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have experience with petroleum equipment, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, test, calibrate, and repair UST systems and associated equipment (e.g., pumps, sensors, piping, leak detection systems).
- Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on fuel dispensing systems.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations (e.g., EPA, state UST regulations).
- Accurately document service calls, inspection reports, and maintenance records.
- Conduct system testing (e.g., ATG functionality, line/leak detection tests) using specialized equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to electrical, mechanical, and fluid systems.
- Communicate clearly with customers, providing updates on work performed and system status.
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in good working condition.
- Stay current on industry standards, technologies, and certifications.
Qualifications:
Required:
- ICC UST VT/VI certification or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- 1–3 years of experience in UST, petroleum equipment service, or a related field.
- Familiarity with UST system components (Veeder-Root, Franklin Fueling, etc.).
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, often in outdoor environments.
Preferred:
- Experience with automatic tank gauges (ATGs) and leak detection systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Able to bend, kneel, crawl, and climb ladders as needed.
- Willingness to be on-call for emergency service calls, including nights and weekends.
