Job Description:
Wittenberg University is recruiting for a Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. The Head Coach will develop and implement performance enhancement, conditioning, speed and agility, and strength training with an emphasis in injury prevention for all varsity athletic teams. We are seeking applicants with a demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Wittenberg University and to Division III athletics. The Head Coach will work collaboratively with Athletic trainers, team physicians, and consultants with the goal of building top performing student-athletes and creating an inviting environment from a student-athlete welfare perspective. This is a full-time, exempt-level position, reporting to the Vice President and Director of Athletics & Recreation.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Develop a schedule to ensure that the sessions for all 25 sport programs are covered and monitored by a strength & conditioning staff member.

Provide fair and equal supervision to all team(s) or individuals utilizing the Strength Center.

Implement Strength & Conditioning programs for all 25 varsity athletic programs.

Manage the student employment staff for both the Strength Center and Fitness Centers in the Health, Wellness and Athletics complex.

Perform regular safety inspections of the Strength Center and equipment to reduce hazards and to provide maximum safety to its patrons.

Ensure that the Strength Center is properly cleaned and organized at the conclusion of any session in which the Strength & Fitness Centers are opened to either teams or the general campus community.

Monitor and regulate the Strength Center environment for the enjoyment of all patrons using the facility.

Provide guidance and assistance to those using both the Strength & Fitness Centers.

Perform other relevant duties as assigned such as special projects, programs, developmental activities, etc.
Job Requirements:
Candidates must have:
- A bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. A Master's degree is preferred.

A minimum of three to five years of experience as a strength trainer and/or CSCS.

Excellent organizational and communication skills, and be able to effectively and appropriately interact with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, peers, community members, and administrators.

Experience as a supervisor is strongly preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required.
A valid driver's license is required; must meet required insurance qualifications found in Wittenberg Motor Pool policies and procedures. If license is from out of state, successful candidate will need to obtain a valid Ohio driver's license within 30 days of hire date.

Night and weekend work is required. Some travel is required.
