Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Part Time Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to providing high-quality meal preparation in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring that our dietary department meets the nutritional needs of our clients while adhering to food safety standards.
Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, following food safety protocols.
- Assist in menu planning and meal preparation for various dietary needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other cooking tools.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality food presentation.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of dietary requirements.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Cook or in a similar role within the food industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities and knowledge of meal preparation techniques is an asset.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting while maintaining individual accountability.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, especially regarding food presentation and safety.
