Duties
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms thoroughly, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and replenishing amenities to meet high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
- Handle various cleaning tasks using appropriate equipment such as vacuums, mops, and cleaning cloths to maintain floor care and overall hygiene.
- Safely handle chemical agents and cleaning supplies in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS) and hotel protocols to ensure a safe environment for yourself and guests.
- Perform heavy lifting when moving furniture or supplies, adhering to manual handling safety procedures to prevent injury.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures promptly in case of incidents or safety concerns, ensuring guest safety at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness of hallways, corridors, and common areas as needed to uphold the hotel’s standards of hospitality and custodial excellence.
- Document completed tasks accurately and report any maintenance issues or damages to management for prompt resolution.
Skills
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping management or custodial experience within hospitality settings.
- Strong knowledge of floor cleaning techniques, industrial cleaning methods, and janitorial practices.
- Skilled in the use of cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and chemical sprayers while ensuring proper chemical handling procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude that enhances guest satisfaction.
- Ability to perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting, manual handling, and prolonged standing or walking.
- Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols to respond effectively in urgent situations.
- Knowledge of sanitation standards, hotel housekeeping management practices, and hospitality industry expectations.
