Job Summary
Premier Development Partners is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Accountant to lead the financial operations of our construction sector. This pivotal role involves accounting functions related to construction projects and maintaining accurate financial records. Responsibilities
- Prepare multiple monthly Owner billings in AIA format for Cost of Work plus a Fee projects with audit trail and backup
- Be responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining accurate records
- Use Quickbooks to enter transaction details on income and expenses
- Print and issue subcontractor and vendor checks
- Contribute to advancing all aspects of construction project accounting, including job costing, budget tracking, monthly pay apps and financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) requirements relevant to construction accounting
- Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger maintenance
- Participate in year-end close and coordinate with external corporate accounting firm to ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards
Experience
- 3-5 years' experience in construction accounting with a strong understanding of industry-specific financial practices
- Demonstrated expertise in using Microsoft Excel, Quickbooks, MRI, AIA Pay Applications, and AIA Contracts
- Prefer experience using accounting software such as Sage, Viewpoint, CMiC, or similar platforms for financial management
- Experience managing accounts payable/receivable processes within an organizational structure
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating across managers to ensure fiscal integrity
