Seeking a California-licensed Professional Engineer to lead overhead transmission line design projects. The ideal candidate will have strong PLS-CADD experience, technical leadership skills, and expertise designing high-voltage transmission systems (69kV–500kV).
Key Responsibilities
- Design and lead overhead transmission line projects using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER.
- Perform route design, structure spotting, sag-tension, clearance, and constructability analyses.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and construction packages.
- Ensure compliance with NESC, California GO 95, IEEE, ASCE, OSHA, and utility standards.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical leadership and QA/QC.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering.
- Active California PE license.
- 7+ years of overhead transmission line design experience.
- Strong proficiency with PLS-CADD and knowledge of PLS-POLE and/or PLS-TOWER.
- Experience with high-voltage transmission systems (69kV–500kV).
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of transmission engineering experience.
- Experience supporting California utilities (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E, LADWP, SMUD).
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project.
- Background as an Engineer of Record, Technical Lead, or Project Engineer.
