We are looking for an experienced and high-energy MC to host SKATESIDE FEST, a large community event in Culver City bringing together thousands of families for skateboarding, roller skating, music, and activities.
Hosted by THE SKATESIDE, a youth program that has introduced skateboarding to over 10,000 kids since 2015, this event focuses on building confidence, community, and positive experiences for youth and families.
The MC plays a critical role in setting the tone of the event, keeping the schedule on track, engaging the crowd, and creating a fun with games, welcoming, and professional atmosphere throughout the day.
Location: Culver City
Dates: May 30–31
Event Hours: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
(MC should be available for the full day and brief prep beforehand)
Responsibilities
- Host the event and keep energy high throughout the day
- Make announcements for activities, contests, performances, and transitions
- Keep the event on schedule and coordinate with staff and performers
- Engage with families, kids, and the crowd in a positive and inclusive way
- Introduce performers, sponsors, and key moments
- Support crowd control by giving clear and timely instructions when needed
- Represent THE SKATESIDE brand in a professional and upbeat manner
Ideal Candidate
- Strong public speaking and stage presence
- Experience hosting live events, festivals, or competitions
- Comfortable engaging with large, diverse crowds (families and kids)
- Able to stay organized and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Clear, confident voice and strong communication skills
- Reliable and punctual
