Job Summary
The Upholsterer is responsible for assembling and upholstering furniture frames with precision, quality, and attention to detail in a manufacturing environment. This role involves cutting, measuring, and attaching fabric or other materials to furniture frames using hand tools, power tools, and industrial sewing machines. The Upholsterer ensures all products meet company quality standards and production timelines while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This position requires strong craftsmanship, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a production team to deliver high-quality finished furniture pieces.
Responsibilities
- Inspect raw materials prior to performing operations to ensure proper quality standards and alert the supervisor to any substandard raw materials
- Providing cover, fiber, poly, cardboard to each position as needed
- Ensuring lines are set up and ready for the next day’s production schedule
- Using basic tools including but not limited to scissors, box cutter, hand tools, power tools, and staples
- Work closely with other team members to on the line to maintain a close team dynamic daily
- Maintain and repair upholstery equipment and tools
- Ensure all finished pieces meet quality standards for durability, comfort, and aesthetics.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an upholsterer or in a related trade
- Strong Knowledge of upholstery techniques, fabrics, and materials
- Proficient with hand tools
- Attention to detail with an eye for precision
- Physical stamina for lifting, bending, stretching, and handling heavy furniture
- Strong time-management skills
Job Type: Full-time
Work Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7 am-4:30 pm; Friday, 7am - 11am; with mandatory OT as needed.
