The Role: Technical & AI Leadership
This executive-level position is heavily focused on client relationship management and strategic AI implementation. You'll be the face of our AI client work, working directly with government executives and stakeholders while leading transformational AI initiatives that revolutionize how government operates. This role requires someone with exceptional vision who can translate complex AI concepts into game-changing government solutions.
In this position you will focus in the following areas:
- Technical Modernization Strategy – Lead technical direction across AI, cloud, data, architecture, integration, security, and emerging technologies.
- AI Practice Leadership – Build and grow our AI consulting practice, methodologies, delivery approach, and client success.
- Technical Delivery Excellence – Ensure technical quality, solution architecture, delivery standards, and successful client outcomes. Deliver as needed to build technical brand and client trust.
- Technical Service Development – Develop new consulting offerings, assessments, accelerators, and reusable technical capabilities based on market demand.
- Technology Innovation & Partnerships – Evaluate emerging technologies and build strategic relationships with key technology vendors and partners.
- Technical Thought Leadership – Represent Loblolly as a trusted technical advisor by translating emerging technologies into practical modernization strategies that clients can successfully implement.
- Presentations and Conferences - Industry Thought Leadership – Serve as Loblolly's technical spokesperson through executive presentations, conferences, industry events, and client workshops, translating emerging technologies into practical modernization strategies that build credibility and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Technical Leadership (Primary Focus)
- Executive Client Engagement: Serve as the primary technology & AI evangelist and relationship owner for our most strategic government clients, building C-level trust in AI transformation
- AI Vision Development: Drive strategic planning for implementation across government agencies, aligning cutting-edge technology with organizational missions
- Use Case Innovation: Identify, validate, and champion high-impact use cases that deliver measurable value to government operations
- Thought Leadership: Position our firm as the premier partner for government technical & AI initiatives through conference presentations and industry engagement
Client Success & Stakeholder Management
- Complex Stakeholder Navigation: Build consensus across multiple agencies and departments, addressing AI concerns and driving adoption
- Requirements Translation: Bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring AI solutions exceed client expectations
- Training & Change Management: Develop training strategies and documentation that accelerate AI adoption across government teams
Practice Development & Team Leadership
- Team Building: Lead and develop a growing team of specialists, strategists, and technical consultants
- Mentorship Excellence: Educate and mentor team members on technology best practices, industry standards, and emerging technologies
- Quality Assurance: Establish technical delivery standards and processes that consistently exceed government client expectations
Business Growth & Innovation
- Business Development: Lead proposal development and client presentations for competitive AI contracts, leveraging deep expertise to win transformational projects
- Partnership Development: Identify and develop strategic AI partnerships to expand our capabilities and market reach
- Practice Evolution: Drive development of new AI service offerings based on market needs, emerging technologies, and client feedback
- Data-Driven Results: Perform advanced data analysis and predictive modeling to demonstrate AI value and optimize project outcomes
What We're Looking For: Experience & Background
- 10+ years in consulting with 3+ years in executive leadership (CIO, CTO, COO, or equivalent). Public Sector experience preferred.
- Proven track record leading 3+ successful AI or machine learning implementation projects in government environments
- Deep expertise in AI technologies and their practical business applications
- Hands-on experience in requirements gathering, solution design, and large-scale organizational transformation
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field; advanced degree preferred
- Relevant industry certifications in AI, machine learning, or related domains
- Proven consulting experience with strong focus on client engagement and relationship management
- Public sector executive leadership experience with demonstrated success in digital transformation initiatives

- Multi-domain project experience solving complex business challenges with AI across different government functions
Work Environment & Expectations
- Location: Austin, TX
- Hybrid Work Model: Regular onsite presence required at both our office and client locations throughout Texas
- Dynamic Work Style: Comfortable with the fast-paced nature of AI innovation and responsive to time-critical project cycles
- Travel: Regular travel to client sites throughout the Central Texas region and broader areas of Texas
