Position Overview:
Saranac Lake Central School is seeking a creative and knowledgeable Junior/Senior High School Technology Teacher to join our educational team. As a Junior/Senior High School Technology Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and empower students in the field of technology, fostering their critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy skills. You will be responsible for implementing a standards-aligned curriculum, incorporating hands-on projects and real-world applications, and creating a culture of belonging within the classroom and beyond.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive, standards-aligned technology curriculum that aligns with state and national standards
Utilize project-based learning and real-world applications to enhance student understanding and relevance
Foster a passion for technology and empower students to become creators and innovators in the digital age
Connect classroom learning to real-world applications and careers in technology, emphasizing the relevance and impact of technology in various industries
Encourage students to apply their knowledge and skills to solve authentic problems and create innovative solutions
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning community
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to participate.
Starting minimum salary per the SLTA Contract is $51,000, however this position is DOE.
