Job Summary
The Asset Protection Associate plays a critical role in safeguarding the company's assets and ensuring a secure environment for both employees and customers. This position involves monitoring premises, conducting surveillance, and implementing loss prevention strategies to mitigate theft and fraud. The ideal candidate will possess strong observational skills, conflict management abilities, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV) to detect suspicious activities and potential theft.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure safety and security.
- Engage with customers and employees to promote a secure environment while addressing any conflicts that may arise.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, investigations, and findings for management review.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary for criminal investigations.
- Assist in training staff on loss prevention techniques and policies.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory discrepancies and incidents.
- Implement strategies to reduce shrinkage and enhance overall asset protection.
Requirements
- Proven experience in loss prevention or asset protection roles is preferred.
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations effectively.
- Familiarity with surveillance equipment (CCTV) and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of criminal investigation procedures and law enforcement practices is an advantage.
- Excellent report writing skills to document incidents clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A certificate in asset protection or related field is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills are essential for success in this role.
