Job Summary: Health Readiness Resources Foundation is seeking a licensed Behavioral Health Counselor for our innovative School-Based Non-Medical Integrated Counseling (SNIC) program in Roswell, NM. This is a non-traditional, community-embedded role. Instead of sitting behind a desk waiting for appointments, you will be on the ground in local schools—proactively engaging students in hallways, common areas, and school events to offer early, brief, solution-focused support.
Key Duties:
- Walk the campus daily to remain visible, build trust, and break down barriers to mental wellness.
- Provide brief, non-medical counseling and run psychoeducational groups on stress, coping skills, and behavior management.
- Act as a consultant for school staff, giving teachers practical tools to handle classroom de-escalation.
- Run trauma-informed screenings and arrange "warm handoffs" to outpatient clinical care when students require deep therapy or crisis intervention.
- Complete daily, de-identified aggregate documentation on the same day services are rendered.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Active New Mexico license (LCSW, LMSW, LISW, LMHC, LPCC, LMFT) or clear eligibility to get licensed before starting.
- Prior experience working with youth, teens, or school districts.
- Clean background check, fingerprinting, and school site clearance.
- Ability to work strictly within a prevention-focused, non-medical scope (no clinical diagnosing or long-term psychotherapy).
Preferences:
- Experience with prevention models, rural community outreach, or military-connected youth.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
What We Offer:
- $25.00 - $50.00/hr compensation.
- Work that directly answers the call in a recognized Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA).
- Comprehensive training, supervision, and program tracking support.
- A predictable schedule tied directly to active school hours.
Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
