Electric City Hospitality, parent company for The Broken Inn, The Horses Lounge, The Comedy Works and The Parlor at Schenectady Municipal Golf Course is seeking a chef to join our team. You must have a great attitude and enjoy working in a fast paced kitchen environment. Experience required, as is a commitment to putting out excellent food, being creative with new dishes, and keeping our kitchen safe and clean.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist in the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation and cooking.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Follow all food safety and handling guidelines to ensure the health and safety of our guests.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Help in inventory management, including tracking supplies and notifying management of low stock levels.
- Participate in menu planning and development as needed.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and report any issues to management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience required.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Proficient in various cooking techniques, knife skills, and food preparation methods.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- A passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
