Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, glassware, and kitchen tools using commercial dishwashing equipment or manual methods.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, including sinks, counters, and floors, adhering to sanitation standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as organizing supplies and handling basic ingredients when needed.
- Support catering and banquet setups by ensuring all serving ware is spotless and ready for use.
- Manage waste disposal properly by separating recyclables and disposing of trash according to health regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow during busy service hours.
- Follow all food handling safety protocols and maintain a clean workspace at all times.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in food service, restaurant kitchens, catering events, or hotel environments is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, food handling safety standards, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy trays or containers.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and organization.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude in fast-paced settings.
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations including bussing, food preparation, and serving is a plus.
