Applications are now being accepted for a position with the Decherd Public Works Department. The employee will driving a specialized vehicle used in collecting garbage and refuse and will operate a hydraulic system designed to empty dumpsters and compact refuse. Applicant must have a Class “B” drivers license with airbrake experience.
The employee is also responsible for performing maintenance tasks of an unskilled or semi-skilled nature: cutting grass, loading and unloading dirt, gravel, trash, and other debris, including collection and disposal of refuse at the park complexes. Duties also include field maintenance of the playing areas. The employee is under the immediate supervision of the Superintendent of Public Works.
