Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position requires a blend of clinical and administrative skills, as you will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient records, and maintain a sterile environment.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared.
- Perform medical imaging and take vital signs to support patient assessments.
- Utilize a 3D scanner for accurate impressions and imaging as needed.
- Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Manage dental terminology effectively to communicate with patients and team members.
- Support front office operations, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records using Dentrix software.
- Assist with medical coding for insurance claims processing.
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy to provide informed assistance during procedures.
- Ensure that treatment areas are clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and taking vital signs.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, infection control practices, and anatomy knowledge.
- Experience with Open Dental or similar dental practice management software is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is an advantage.
