School Nurse Substitutes support and promote student health by planning, coordinating, evaluating, and carrying out school health services when a School Nurse is absent. You may choose the days you would like to be available based on your own schedule.
SUBSTITUTE SCHOOL NURSE RATE OF PAY for 2025-26 school year:
Current RN or LPN License.
Demonstrate basic medical knowledge and skill in nursing techniques.
Demonstrate knowledge of child & adolescent development.
Ability to work effectively with students and staff.
SCHOOL NURSE SUBSTITUTE:
Follow the schedule and carry out the assigned duties left by the permanent school nurse.
Collaborate with students, parents/guardians, and district staff to follow individual student health plans.
Document care provided to students.
Identifies, refers and/or treats acute injuries, illness or conditions of students as needed.
Collaborates with district staff to carry out specialized services for students with diverse medical needs.
Communicate with families of students with health plans and ensure appropriate delivery of services.
Other duties as assigned.
