Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as an After-School Youth Enrichment / Sports Coach, where your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire children to engage in fun, educational, and physical activities. In this role, you will lead a variety of youth programs, including sports, arts, and developmental activities, fostering a safe and supportive environment that encourages growth, teamwork, and confidence. Your energy and leadership will help shape positive experiences for children during after-school hours, promoting healthy development and lifelong skills.
Duties
- Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging youth activities such as sports, arts, games, and educational programs aligned with developmental goals.
- Supervise children during program hours to ensure safety, proper behavior management, and active participation.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote respectful interactions and a positive atmosphere among participants.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to first aid protocols, CPR procedures, AED operation guidelines, and emergency response procedures.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and school staff to communicate progress and address individual needs or concerns.
- Lead outdoor activities and coordinate camp-style experiences that promote outdoor work skills and team building.
- Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance through tailored activities and accommodations.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in educational or recreational settings; experience in youth development programs is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies to foster a positive environment.
- Certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols are required (can be achieved during onboarding); ongoing training preferred.
- Ability to supervise children safely during indoor activities and outdoor work environments; youth/camp experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide youth through various activities while maintaining discipline.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively.
- Background in early childhood education or childhood development is advantageous; experience in sports coaching or theater is beneficial.
Additional details
- Part-time with consistent weekday afternoon hours.
- Must be able to pass a background check and complete all required live and virtual training sessions, as well as participate in ongoing training and skill-building opportunities.

- Hourly pay range starting at $16 - $19 p/h depending on background and experience
