United Group Services is currently seeking a Welding Instructor to join our team in West Chester, Ohio.

Essential Job Duties:
- Mitigates issues that arise between Instructors and Students. Informs Lead Instructor and Director of Instruction of issues and seeks assistance in reaching a resolution
- Answers questions, provides information, and gives recommendations regarding Students to assist the front office staff. May include skillset information for placement, resume guidance, or verification of attendance.
- Receives feedback regarding instructor performance from the Lead Instructor. Reviews strengths and areas of improvement, sets goals, tracks progress, and seeks assistance with any barriers.
- Mentors Students within the Elite Welding Academy program, providing coaching, guidance, and motivation. Provides resources to assist in development of skills to succeed in the program, workforce, and life.
- Maintains relationships with alumni, checking in, networking, scheduling booths for practice, answering questions, and providing guidance.
- Meets daily with Lead Instructor to review classroom curriculum, lab plans, and Student progress. Coordinates resources, troubleshoots issues, and ensures completion of paperwork, charts, and electronic records.
- Tracks and updates Student progress on the progress chart, including attendance, skill level, and curriculum stage. Monitors performance, provides guidance when Students are behind, and holds Students accountable to meeting requirements and achieving milestones.
- Delivers classroom instruction to Students following the NCCER content. Assigns homework and administers paper tests to solidify understanding of material.
- Provides lab demonstrations to Student in alignment with classroom instruction to show proper welding techniques. Oversees Students as they practice technique, provides feedback, answers questions, and gives guidance to help improve skillset.
- Follows and enforces all safety procedures to ensure Team Members and Students complete all activities safely. Seeks assistance immediately for any accidents, completes documentation, and considers ways to prevent future occurrences.
- Keeps safety front of mind by delivering safety messages periodically during Instruction.
- Stays abreast of safety requirements and assists Lead Instructor with implementation and communication of safety protocol changes.
- Tracks use of equipment, materials, and consumables. Completes inventory report count monthly for submission to the Lead Instructor. Informs Lead Instructor of equipment malfunction and consumable or material needs.
- Partners with the Lab Assistance to prepare materials. Assists with moving, staging, and cutting of materials as needed.
- Coordinates the availability of classroom and lab space with the Craft Training Instructor and ensures all materials are prepared in advance of class.
- Submits Student tests and paperwork to the Bursar or Administration Representative for grading and record keeping. Ensures information is submitted on time and is complete to avoid delays in graduation or other milestones. Coordinates any retests as necessary.
- Reports Student end of term weld test results for review with Lead Instructor. Assesses performance and determines next term advancement eligibility for each Student.
- Participates in monthly Instructor meetings with the Director of Instruction, Lead Instructor, and other Instructors. Discusses Student performance, equipment functionality, material usage, Instructor coverage, upcoming visits, special weld projects, general updates, and any current issues needing resolution.
- Participates in all staff meetings every other month with all school locations. Reviews regulatory changes, policy updates, curriculum revisions, staff movement, student issues, and other company wide topics.
- Discusses Student skillset with the Lead Instructor and Craft Training Instructor as they transfer from graduation to the craft training program.
- Attends continuing education courses to maintain accreditation and refresh skillset. Identifies course, obtains approval from Lead Instructor, schedules attendance, and submits required documentation to front office upon completion.
- Discusses best practices and industry trends with other Instructors and Lead Instructor. Partners to implement improvements to curriculum, processes, and procedures to ensure content remains relevant for Students.
- Partners with the front office to develop solutions to common problems experienced by Students. Utilizes list to provide resources to Students as they express their concerns.
- Supports the Community Liaison with recruitment efforts by leading tours, attending career fairs, visiting high schools, sharing knowledge of welding events, and assisting with social media content development. Answers questions and positively advocates for the Elite Welding Academy programs and offerings.
