Duties
- Greet guests warmly and take beverage and food orders with enthusiasm and accuracy
- Serve drinks, including cocktails, spirits, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring proper presentation and quality
- Process sales transactions efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, cleaning bar areas, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Assist with food preparation or food handling as needed to support kitchen staff during busy periods
- Manage guest relations by providing attentive service, addressing questions about menu items like wine knowledge or cocktail options, and ensuring overall satisfaction
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially fine dining or upscale bars
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is a plus
- Strong knowledge of beverage service, spirits, wine, and cocktail preparation techniques
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables and tasks efficiently during busy hours
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining a friendly demeanor
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and hospitality excellence
- Experience with bussing, host/hostess duties, or cashiering is advantageous
