Position Summary
The Entry-Level Machine Operator is responsible for assisting with the setup, operation, and monitoring of CNC machines to produce quality parts efficiently and safely. This role is ideal for someone with some machining exposure who wants to continue developing their skills in a production environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines in a safe and efficient manner
- Load and unload parts from machines
- Read basic blueprints, work instructions, and job travelers
- Use measuring tools to inspect parts and verify conformance to print requirements
- Monitor machine operation and notify supervisor of malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions
- Make minor offsets and adjustments as directed
- Assist with machine setups and changeovers
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety and quality procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to read and understand blueprints is preferred
- Ability to use basic measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers is preferred
- Prior manufacturing or machining experience is helpful, but not required
- Hi-Lo / forklift experience is a plus
- Strong attendance and reliability are required
- Ability to work well in a team environment
