The Digital Content Coordinator is the technical engine of the website, ensuring that all digital content is web-ready, accurate, compliant, and accessible. This role is responsible for executing approved content updates within the IBM Web Content Manager (WCM) or like platforms and validating that all materials meet WCAG accessibility standards, SEO best practices, and platform requirements before publication. This position does not define strategy or content priorities—instead, the coordinator excels at precision, quality control, and compliance, bringing technical rigor to the content publishing process.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Execution & Publishing:
Enter, format, and publish approved content in the WCM, ensuring proper layout, structure, tagging, and metadata.
Validate that all content meets SEO, metadata, and site structure requirements.
Ensure all content complies with WCAG accessibility standards, performing checks and correcting issues before publication.
Maintain consistency across pages by adhering to established templates, design conventions, and platform rules.
Quality Assurance:
Serve as the final checkpoint for quality, accuracy, and compliance before any content goes live.
Conduct thorough proofreading and editing to correct errors, improve clarity, and ensure adherence to content standards.
Identify issues with formatting, navigation, broken links, and content performance, escalating when needed.
Work closely with authors to ensure content is complete, approved, and ready for publishing.
Compliance & Standards:
Uphold accessibility, editorial, branding, and compliance standards across all web content.
Ensure content aligns with approved briefs and WCM governance processes.
Support content audits by flagging issues related to maintenance, accuracy, or usability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong understanding of the IBM Web Content Manager or like platforms, including site structure, navigation systems, workflows, and publishing tools.
Demonstrated experience implementing SEO best practices, metadata, and content optimization.
Working knowledge of accessibility standards, particularly WCAG guidelines.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to diagnose content or formatting issues.
High attention to detail with excellent proofreading and editing skills.
Strong quality assurance mindset with a focus on consistency, accuracy, and risk mitigation.
Ability to ensure content meets all internal compliance and accessibility standards.
Ability to work effectively across Divisions, supporting authors and stakeholders with varying technical expertise.
Clear, concise communication skills, especially when explaining our content management system, accessibility, or SEO requirements to non-technical staff.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and maintain positive working relationships.
