Position Summary
La Rosa Arts Center is seeking a highly organized, hospitality-driven Assistant General Manager to support operations across our 800-capacity live music venue, multiple bars, and attached restaurant, Sisters.
The Assistant General Manager is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for supporting daily operations, department leaders, staff performance, guest experience, artist hospitality, and overall business performance. This role helps build and maintain strong operational systems, drives accountability, and ensures consistent execution across the property.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is equally comfortable leading people, improving systems, analyzing performance, and stepping into day-to-day operations.
Bar Operations
- Oversee bar staffing and scheduling, ensuring appropriate coverage based on event needs and projected sales.
- Adjust staffing and labor as event demands evolve.
- Partner with bar leads to maintain beverage programs that reflect guest preferences and industry trends.
- Monitor inventory and purchasing to ensure appropriate product availability.
- Maintain inventory controls to reduce waste, over-pouring, and product loss.
- Monitor pour costs and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
- Ensure accurate inventory tracking and allocation between La Rosa Arts Center and Sisters.
- Maintain systems for reporting and expense allocation between business units.
Sisters Restaurant Operations
- Partner with the Executive Chef and Front-of-House leadership to ensure appropriate staffing, operational readiness, and consistent service standards.
- Identify opportunities to share labor resources between Sisters and La Rosa to improve efficiency and support employee development.
- Support food and beverage standards, guest satisfaction, and operational consistency.
- Monitor labor efficiency while maintaining a high-quality guest experience.
- Ensure restaurant operations align with overall company standards and business goals.
Venue & Property Operations
- Maintain health, safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance standards across the property.
- Ensure food safety procedures, temperature logs, labeling systems, and health department requirements are consistently followed.
- Conduct regular facility walkthroughs and promptly address maintenance, cleanliness, organization, and presentation concerns.
- Maintain high standards for guest-facing spaces, including lighting, sound levels, atmosphere, cleanliness, and overall appearance.
- Develop and maintain systems, procedures, and checklists that improve consistency and accountability.
- Monitor adherence to company standards and proactively identify and resolve operational challenges.
Event Operations
- Participate in production and operations meetings to support successful event execution.
- Review event contracts and understand promoter, artist, and client expectations.
- Coordinate operational needs across departments before, during, and after events.
- Anticipate challenges and troubleshoot issues in real time.
- Serve as Manager on Duty for events as assigned.
Artist Hospitality & Settlements
- Develop a thorough understanding of artist contracts, riders, and performance agreements.
- Ensure artists, agents, and touring personnel receive exceptional hospitality and service.
- Maintain systems and standards for green room inventory, amenities, organization, and presentation.
- Process artist settlements accurately and professionally.
- Collect and document merchandise fees and maintain accurate settlement records using Prism and other company systems.
- Build strong relationships with artists and touring teams that reinforce La Rosa’s reputation as a preferred touring venue.
People Leadership
- Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and develop team members.
- Support and manage department leaders in achieving operational and performance goals.
- Coach employees and managers through performance improvement and professional development.
- Address employee relations matters professionally, consistently, and in partnership with appropriate leadership.
- Participate in disciplinary processes and documentation when necessary.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
- Lead by example through professionalism, reliability, sound judgment, and follow-through.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
- Monitor labor costs, staffing efficiency, sales, inventory, and other key operating metrics.
- Assist with budgeting, reporting, and operational analysis.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records and administrative documentation.
- Use data and operational insights to identify trends, solve problems, and support business decisions.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate:
- 3+ years of management experience in hospitality, restaurants, bars, live entertainment, or a similar fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience leading teams, managing performance, and holding employees accountable to operational and service standards.
- Experience with scheduling, labor management, inventory controls, and basic financial or operational reporting.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communicator who leads with accountability, professionalism, sound judgment, and follow-through.
- Hands-on leader who is comfortable balancing day-to-day operations with administrative and strategic responsibilities.
- Must be available to regularly work nights, weekends, and special events based on business needs.
Schedule Expectations
- Typically 3–4 event/evening shifts per week and 1–2 administrative days per week, based on business needs.
- Regular availability for nights, weekends, and special events is required.
- Schedule flexibility is essential due to the nature of live entertainment and hospitality operations.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
