Job Overview
We are an FAA Repair Station seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to join our supply chain team. In this vital role, you will oversee procurement activities, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure timely acquisition of materials and services essential for manufacturing operations. Your expertise will help streamline purchasing processes, optimize inventory levels, and support the overall efficiency of our production and logistics functions. The position requires knowledge of aviation parts documentation, including FAA airworthiness requirements, traceability, and certification standards. The Purchasing Coordinator works closely with Engineering, Production, QA, Inventory Control, and approved vendors to ensure all purchased items meet FAA regulations, company policies, and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes using ERP systems
- Collaborate with production planning and demand planning teams to forecast requirements and align procurement schedules accordingly.
- Coordinate logistics inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels, reduce waste, and prevent shortages across warehouses and production sites.
- Conduct data analysis using Excel to monitor supplier performance, analyze procurement trends, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Liaise with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal departments to ensure seamless supply chain operations, including procurement, transportation, and warehouse activities.
Skills
- Proficiency in ERP for procurement and supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of demand planning, production planning, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and ERP systems integration.
- Experience with logistics inventory management, warehouse management systems, and enterprise solutions implementation.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets using Excel for decision-making purposes.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, plant management practices, and supply chain optimization strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively across departments and with external suppliers.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote continuous improvement initiatives within procurement activities.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Aviation Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience, preferably in an aviation MRO, aerospace manufacturing, or airline environment.
- Working knowledge of aircraft parts, aviation supply chain processes, and regulatory documentation.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations and aviation quality requirements related to parts traceability and airworthiness.
- Experience using ERP, MRP, or aviation inventory management systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
