TITLE: Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP)
REPORTS TO: Building Principal / Director of Special Education
DESE Educator's Licensure in Subject Area is Required
SEI Endorsement is required for ALL classroom and subject area teachers PK-12 and special education.
JOB GOAL: To provide high-quality services, assessments, and consultation across the district in collaboration with building-based and district staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Implements all aspects of Child Find: referring, screening, evaluating, diagnosing and recommending intervention strategies for referred students.

Completes all assessments, including written reports within timelines mandated by IDEA.

Completes all progress reports within timelines mandated by IDEA

Maintains written records of service delivery for all students

Consult with administration, staff, and families regarding interventions and strategies for identified students.

Participates and reports evaluation results to IEP/504 eligibility meetings.

Observe students in their learning environments, as requested

Provides direct clinical services to students in a variety of settings, as required

Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with evaluation instruments and tools.

Medicaid session reporting

Supervise SLPA’s who service schools on their caseload.

Consult with other medical/clinical professionals, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Valid License to Practice as a Registered Speech and Language Pathologist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
-
Previous experience working in a school setting (min. 1-3 years)

Experience working with all disability areas
-
Experience in developing sensory diets and evaluating sensory needs.

EVALUATION/TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

An Administrator of Special Education will evaluate performance.
