Landscape Project Manager
Village Green Landscaping is hiring a Project Manager to run landscape installations from start to finish. You'll lead a crew through hardscape, grading, drainage, plantings, and everything in between. Our project work ranges from patios and walkways to full property renovations across the western suburbs of Boston.
We need someone who can read notes / plans, manage a job site, and deliver quality work on time and on budget.
WHO YOU ARE
We built our core values by looking at the people on our team who stand out, the ones we'd want to clone. If these sound like you, you'll fit right in.
1. Build and Protect Our Reputation - Do the right thing. Treat customers and teammates with respect. Deliver work you're proud to put your name on.
2. Be Relentlessly Reliable - Show up on time and follow through. Work is done right the first time. No excuses. No drama. Do the job right.
3. Always Improving - Raise the bar for yourself, your crew, and our clients. Leave things better than you found them. Seek progress, not perfection.
If you live these values, you'll thrive here. If they don't resonate, this probably isn't the right fit, and that's okay.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead a 2-4 person crew through landscape construction and installation projects
- Hardscape: patios, walkways, retaining walls, steps, fire pits, outdoor living areas
- Grading, drainage, and site prep
- Softscape: trees, shrubs, perennials, sod, seed
- Read and interpret notes, landscape plans, manage materials and scheduling on site
- Coordinate with the Account Manager on scope, timeline, and any field changes
- Maintain job site safety, cleanliness, and organization every day
- Operate equipment: skid steers, mini excavators, plate compactors, saws
- Train crew members and hold them to a high standard of workmanship
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- Field experience: 3+ years in landscape construction, hardscape installation, or a related trade.
- Plan reading: You can interpret a landscape or hardscape plan and execute it in the field.
- Leadership: You've run a crew and a job site before. You know how to keep a project moving.
- Quality standards: You care about grade, alignment, drainage, and the details that separate good work from great work.
- Equipment operation: Comfortable running skid steers, mini excavators, and standard construction tools.
- Snow and Ice Management experience a plus.
- Communication: You keep the team, the office, and the client informed. No surprises.
- Problem-solving: When something comes up in the field, you figure it out and keep moving.
- Driver's license: Valid and clean (3+ years). CDL or MA DOT card and hydraulic license is a plus.
- Physical ability: This is heavy outdoor work. Lifting, digging, and being on your feet in all weather.
WHAT WE OFFER
- $30-$35/hour + based on experience, plus overtime and bonus opportunities
- Full-time, Monday-Friday schedule (7:00 AM - 4:00 PM typical)
- Work for a company that's been in the community since 1985
- Professional growth: we invest in our people and promote from within
- A team that takes the work seriously but doesn't take itself too seriously
- Substance-free workplace: we maintain a drug-free, alcohol-free, and cigarette-free environment during work hours and on company / client property
