The Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Electronic Technician I at Altek Electronics are described below:
The Electronic Technician I plays a critical role in supporting the design, testing, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems and equipment. This entry-level position focuses on ensuring that electronic components and assemblies function correctly and meet quality standards. The technician will work closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, perform routine inspections, and assist in the installation of electronic devices. Through hands-on technical work, the role contributes to the reliability and efficiency of electronic products and systems. Ultimately, the Electronic Technician I helps maintain operational excellence and supports continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
Includes the following, other duties may be assigned:

Perform testing of analog, digital, and microprocessor based systems

Calibrate and maintain test fixtures
-
Operate all test equipment including multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and function generators

Operate programming devices
-
Analyze and interpret test information to resolve issues

Supports supervisors and/or operators in the resolution of quality problems
-
Actively participates in quality initiatives by participating in problem solving, process improvements and performance measurements.

Responsible for understanding & following company, and or manufacturing guidelines/procedures

Responsible for product quality as defined by internal and external customers, work instructions, specifications and procedures.

Responsible for following established safety rules & 6S
Skills:
The required skills enable the Electronic Technician I to effectively perform diagnostics and repairs on a variety of electronic systems, ensuring minimal operational disruptions. Proficiency with testing instruments and the ability to interpret technical documentation are essential for accurate troubleshooting and maintenance. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with PLCs and safety standards, enhance the technician's capability to handle more complex systems and contribute to a safer work environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills facilitate collaboration with engineers and other technicians to resolve issues efficiently. Continuous learning and adaptability are vital as technology evolves, allowing the technician to grow professionally and support advanced electronic systems.

Ability to read & understand assembly documentation, test procedures, and all inspection criteria

Ability to operate all test equipment including multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators, and programming devices

Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision

Must have a high school diploma /GED or equivalent work experience.

Minimum of one year of electronic technician or test related experience/training

IPC 610 & 620 certification or ability to obtain IPC certifications through our in-house training program within an agreed upon time frame.
Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds.
