Position Title: Mortgage Loan Officer
Reports To: EVP - Lending
Location: Onsite at Griffith and or Merrillville
Position Description:
The Mortgage Loan Officer works in the loan department originating, processing, and closing real estate loans. This position requires a high level of concentration in paying attention to detail with excellent time management skills. Strong business development skills and relationship-building skills are a must.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Originate First Mortgages, Home Equity loans/lines of credit
- Monitor the pipeline and loan queue to work with member applications from start to completion
- Assemble financial information to assist with loan applications, prepare loan files and assess members’ financial position and eligibility
- Gather supporting documentation, issue disclosures and rate locks
- Ability to identify member needs and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
- Proven ability to generate new business and deepen existing member relationships.
- Strong communication, sales, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate with branch and lending staff to achieve organizational goals.
- Participate in MSCU community events
- Complete all compliance requirements in a timely manner
- Complete other related duties as required or assigned
- Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organizations desired culture and values
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of federal lending regulations (TRID)
- 2+ years of residential mortgage origination and business development
- Knowledge of Fannie/Freddie guidelines
- Detail oriented and thorough
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate teamwork and customer service skills
- Willingness to accept ongoing projects as necessary
- Active NMLS ID is required
Physical Requirements:
Frequently requires use of manual dexterity and repetitive motions, primarily with the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to occasionally lift and exert force of up to 40 pounds. Standing, filing, bending, kneeling, keyboarding, telephone usage, sitting for extended periods of time.
Compensation:
Competitive compensation is based on experience, plus a generous benefits package.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
