About Us: Becker & House, PLLC is a boutique law firm specializing in estate planning, probate, trust administration, and litigation. We are seeking a full-time, highly motivated Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team and support our attorneys with a range of administrative and legal tasks.
Job Overview: As a Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys with various administrative and legal duties. This role also includes screening and tracking potential clients of the firm. Key responsibilities include:
- Communicate with and track all potential new clients, handle intake calls, and prepare detailed notes for attorney review while maintaining accurate and organized records in the firm’s CRM system.
- Maintain and organize legal files, including opening new matters and ensuring proper document management within the firm’s system.
- Assist in proofreading, preparing, filing pleadings in multiple courts.
- Coordinate calendars, calculate and schedule deadlines, court appearances, depositions, mediations, client meetings, and conference calls.
- Communicate with process servers, newspapers, and other entities to ensure timely process and deadline compliance.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), including PDF conversion and editing, to manage documents and correspondence.
- Prepare drafts of basic pleadings and locate appropriate templates as needed.
- Process and follow up on subpoenas for various records, including medical and business records.
- Review, analyze, and organize document production from clients, opposing parties, and co-counsel.
- Share administrative office responsibilities, including answering phones and managing day-to-day office tasks.

Qualifications:
- 1 or more years of customer service experience is required
- 1 or more years of legal assistant experience is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with professionalism
Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Compensation & Benefits:
We offer competitive compensation starting at $27 per hour, or more based on experience. In addition, our firm provides the following benefits:
- Health Insurance: 100% of premiums for the employee covered by the firm starting the first month after 60 days of employment
- Health Savings Account: $250/month contribution after 60 days
- Retirement: 401(k) plan with up to 6% employer match, eligible after one year of employment
- Paid Time Off: At least 10 paid holidays per year
- Vacation: Two weeks of paid vacation per year, starting after 90 days of employment
- Sick Leave: Accrued paid sick leave
