Barista
Do you like serving with a smile, supporting a team of cool people, and learning endless fun facts about coffee? If so, you might be the right fit to join our crew at the Shady Maple cafe in East Earl! Our Twin Valley Coffee baristas are responsible for multiple tasks that support the operation of a TVC café. These tasks include customer service, making beverages, operating the POS, cleaning, and other related tasks.
Responsibilities
- Follow all TVC policies and procedures.
- Learn to make all TVC hot and cold drinks while maintaining expected quality standards.
- Assist customers with ordering and be able to suggest products that might appeal to them.
- Process customer payments for beverages and retail items.
- Know about all TVC products including drinks, beans, apparel, drinkware, etc.
- Clean, prep, and stock all areas of the store including beverage areas, retail shelves, and POS area.
- Maintain the standard of excellence in cleanliness.
- Maintain TVC’s required food safety certifications.
- Work to provide an exceptional customer experience by being positive, consistent, and friendly.
- Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, appropriate dress, and overall appearance.
- Complete tasks assigned to you by the management team to the best of your ability and as soon as possible.
Skills and Abilities
- Past experience in food service is a plus, but not required.
- Proven ability to interact well with people, including listening and communicating effectively
- Respectfully receive instruction from manager
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable to handle money
- Reliable to show up on time and cover shifts when scheduled.
- Strong attention to detail
- Perceptive to social interactions and customer responses
- Able to listen to instructions and follow them accurately
Physical Requirements
- Handle and move objects under 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity in hands and fingers
- Able to see objects at close distance
- Able to hear and repeat customers' orders or specific instructions
- General physical activities such as standing for long periods of time, stooping, lifting, and walking
